Help

Some parents have been helping to pick the balls up throughout their child’s sessions. THANK YOU. This is most welcome and a big help, enabling the participants to hit more tennis balls.

Curriculum

Occasionally I have requests or enquiries regarding specific coaching topics. Each year I try to write a comprehensive inclusive program covering a wide variety of tennis content. Hence, each week is varied and each term has a different focus. This is done to maintain participants enthusiasm and to keep the program fresh and focused. In each session any over-riding technical [eg. grip] concerns will be addressed. Please don’t hesitate to voice your preference or interest.

Make up/Wet day sessions Baranduda

On the first wet day of each term an indoor session will be held in the Baranduda Community Centre depending on availability, focusing on rules, etiquette and indoor activity. If there is second wash out, a make up session will be scheduled for the end of term. Please contact me [0417517959] if in doubt as to any given session. A message will be left on my mobile with all details. One make up session is available per participant per term [sick, school camp, etc]. This includes wet day sessions. I require 48 hours notice of any absence. The above policy is viable but I always try to be as flexible as circumstances allow. Please don’t assume I know what school, grade and or activities your child may be involved in.

Make up/Wet day sessions Euroa

On the first wet day of any term an indoor session will be held, focusing on rules, etiquette and indoor activity. These sessions have been held at the Mercy Centre at St Johns Primary School if the day is “obviously” very wet. If this is the case I will contact the local schools to get it announced on the PA. If the session is washed out at the last minute, sessions will be held at the Euroa Lawn Tennis Club rooms. The second wet day of any term a make up session at the end of the term will be scheduled i.e. [9th week]. Please contact me [0417517959] if in doubt as to any given session. A message will be left on my mobile with all details. It is very difficult for me to organise make up sessions due to children’s illness or other unexpected absences owing to the distance I have to travel. I always try to be as flexible as circumstances allow. Term 1,2008 was scheduled for 9 weeks, which means participants received an extra session. Please don’t assume I know what school, grade and or activities your child may be involved in.

 Make up/Wet day sessions Parklands

On the first wet day of each term an indoor session will be held in the Parklands Tennis Club rooms, focusing on rules, etiquette and indoor activity. If there is second wash out, a make up session will be scheduled for the end of term. Please contact me [0417517959] if in doubt as to any given session. A message will be left on my mobile with all details. One make up session is available per participant per term [sick, school camp, etc]. This includes wet day sessions. Session best practice

Arrive 5-10 mins early to coaching session if possible for a quick warm up and then stay 5 or 10min for a quick hit afterwards. Tennis coaching provides a framework in which to practice and make analysis from. It enhances knowledge to make practice smart, informed, efficient and to remove the frustration of the unknown. All participants should be doing a little home work each day which should take no longer than 2-3mins to complete i.e. Serve 10 times into trampoline, wall, garage door, fence, old sheet or blanket hung from clothes line, ten hammer tests, 20 tap ups/downs. Bit of backyard tennis over the outdoor setting?
